Stevie Wonder-3-819x1024Stevie Wonder quit MoTown in 1970 and released two albums all by himself. Berry Gordy was stunned to learn this from Stevie Wonder. Berry Gordy was able to agree with Stevie Wonder's demands for more independence, complete creative control and rights to all of his songs. In 1972 Stevie Wonder returned to MoTown records and signed a thirteen million dollar contract with MoTown Records. This granted Stevie Wonder to a higher royalty rate , as well as more creative control and rights to his own songs, which few artists had gotten during that time. The agreement also allowed Wonder's songs as well as videos to talk about controversial issues like war, poverty,drugs and politics. In 1972 the album was came out with Music Of My Mind, the first album released under the new MoTown agreement. Talking Book was Stevie Wonder's album from late in 1972. It's still an important piece of music. This album featured Superstition which was the top-rated chart-topping song of the year.
